Job Description:

Classroom teachers are responsible for planning activities and child supervision and tracking for assigned enrolled children. Activities may involve small or large groups or individual interaction. General day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with meals, toileting, and rest time, outside play, field trips, and other learning center activities. Teachers are responsible for ensuring that all activity plans designed for children are completed following developmentally appropriate practices and that appropriate screening and assessment processes occur to ensure that children are provided with a wide variety of opportunities in their growth and development.


+ AA degree in Early Childhood is required, or degree with early childhood coursework.

+ Previous work experience with Head Start or other Child Development Programs is required.

+ Must have the physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Additional Information:

Salary Grade: 104 Hourly Rate: $10.51 - $14/hr

Conditions of Employment:

+ A successful criminal background check.

+ A copy of a TB skin test is required prior to entrance into the classroom.

+ A copy of a general health/physical is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
