Description

OBJECTIVE


To strive to obtain the proper system design through adherence to construction specifications and other requirements as specified by the Rural Utilities Service, the Public Service Commission and the National Electrical Safety Code.


RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Obtains and assists in securing right of way.


2. Draws up and processes staking sheets.


3. Assists in staking large work orders and conversion work orders as required.


4. Consults with District Line Superintendents on all newly assigned jobs. In the absence of the District Line Superintendent consults with appropriate crew chief.


5. Summarizes construction units and retirement units as needed.


6. Performs underground locates as requested.


7. Assists in maintaining system maps.


8. Assigns account numbers to each new member as required.


9. Assigns work order numbers to each new job as required.


10. Works with contractors and Blue Grass Energy warehouse personnel reviewing new construction, staking sheets, material tickets, billing accuracy and job closeouts.


11. Performs work order procedures.


12. Assists the Manager, Field Engineering on work orders and projects as requested.


13. Assists in purchasing materials when required.


14. Assists with outages during emergencies as requested.


15. Checks monthly work orders as assigned.


16. Assists in closing out of large work orders as required.


17. Assists in performing work order inspections as assigned.


18. Directs or relays complaints and information to the proper department.


19. Follows BGEnergy Safety Manual as well as BGEnergy policies and procedures.

Requirements

Ability to complete reports and other paperwork and perform mathematical calculations. Must have a thorough understanding of RUS & PSC regulations and National Electrical Safety Code. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to effectively communicate with the public (verbal and written) is required. Reasoning and analyzing skills are required.
