Facilities Manager

## Description
**Position Objective:**
Oversee and perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on all manufacturing and facility equipment as needed, including services and processes that support the core business of the company. Manage the installation and start-up of manufacturing equipment. This position requires experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, preferably in the printing industry. Will also be responsible for the procurement of needed parts for service and repair.
**Role and Responsibilities:**
* Maintain manufacturing equipment by:
* Performing preventive maintenance equipment
* Troubleshooting and repairing machine breakdowns
* Ordering needed parts
* Ensuring all guards are in place and equipment is safe to operate
* Documenting tasks done and parts used on maintenance work orders
* Building and/or modifying equipment
* Working with production to resolve machine issues that limit productivity and quality
* Oversee staff on multiple shifts on maintenance projects.
* Oversee the Kaizen and Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) events on machines.
* Operate independently to make decisions in the moment to reduce downtime
* Manage the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S;) program to include the performance of environmental hazard management, planning and remediation.
* Coordinate repair and maintenance efforts with outside vendors and contractors, including purchasing supplies.
* Maintain disaster preparedness by identifying potential problems, developing response plans, and managing crises.
* Create schedule and prioritize work orders in partnership with manufacturing.
* Support and direct resources as required and be available to assist other WSPG facilities.
* Determine department procedures and proper handling of paperwork for process/history traceability.
* Direct, supervise, and coordinate facility changes including construction projects, flooring, painting, facility cleaning, snow removal, lawn care and garbage removal services.
* Enforce established safety policies and procedures and recommend and implement changes in unsafe conditions.
* Establish and maintain an atmosphere that facilitates and supports a high performance, team-based culture.
* On call 24/7; ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.

## Requirements
**Qualifications and Education Requirements:**
Should have either a journeyman's card or equivalent of college education. Previous experience in the Printing industry with Management experience.
**Preferred Skills:**
* Qualified to monitor, identify, and communicate problems in every phase of general maintenance including areas of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and related areas.
* Must have a working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and servo controls. Must be able to read and understand both electric and pneumatic schematics.
* Electrical knowledge and experience. Licensed electrician is a plus.
* Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
* Able to work under pressure and adapt to frequent changes.
* Be able to understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
* Familiar with AC and DC drives, high voltage power and low voltage control circuits.
* Familiar with mechanical power transmission components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
* Have a good working knowledge of hand tools and tooling used on these machines.
* Better than average computer skills.
**Physical Demands:**
Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. May, on a continuous basis, stand for a long period of time and stoop and kneel frequently. May handle, feel and reach for items in and around press area, also write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Continual walking and lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required. Ability to work in confined spaces.
The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud.
Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines.
